On Tuesday, November 1st the Pre-nursery and Nursery classes of Hui Xin campus, including our brothers and sisters from Casa Dei Bambini went on Autumn fieldtrip to the brand new Shanfang Shan Safari Park.
It was a chilly morning leaving campus but luckily the clouds dispersed to give us a wonderful day at the Zoo! Better yet, it turned out we had the whole gigantic park to ourselves!
Going through the park we encountered rare and both friendly and ferocious animals. The Emu, Lama, Goat, Pony and birds were all peaceful and observant. The larger and more ferocious animals like lions, tigers, panthers were unfaced by our presence and took a rest in the sunshine.
We have to be careful not to bother the animals in their homes! remember, knocking on the enclosures just to get the animals attention is not very polite, imagine if someone did that to you when you were taking a rest at your home? You would not like that... I know they do not like it too.
Also, remember that we can't feed the animals or throw candy into any enclosures. It is not good for the monkey's teeth to bite through metal foil or to get the habit of fighting eachother over small bites of thrown away food... Let's not give them a reason to fight! or contribute to their bad teeth, they don't have dentists for monkeys!
However, at the nearby petting zoo the keepers will let us feed the goats and ponies with straws of hay or carrots even, it's a lot of fun and there's plenty for all! Let's do that instead.
It was an amazing day together with children, parents, teachers and animals from around the globe. We learnt to treasure the beautiful and rare species we saw today and show respect to all animals, both the tiny cute ones and big scary ones!
Happy Autumn Fieldtrip!
Weaved bushes decorate the entrance to the park.
Teachers Ms. Lily & Ms. Sara lead the Nursery 209 class to go inside the park.
Lets go inside and see the animals! It's exciting!
The first area had birds and feathered creatures of all sorts, like this funny hen!
The young lama's were looking mighty proud with their beautiful soft fur.
At the Emu enclosure we could see some of the biggest "birds" in the world.
Look mom! I am looking at the monkey! do you think it is looking at me?
A rare young orange monkey, might it be an orangutang? It certainly sees me!
Have you ever seen monkeys so small? the size of kittens! 3 little monkeys jumping...
At the petting zoo we were allowed to feed the ponies and goats with carrots.
We got our lunch too! sandwiches, yakult, oranges, egg, apple juice and water.
Come on! Let's go see some more animals!
The proud lion was protection her place in the sun!
Wow! Look at that orange beak! The Toucan is very beautiful!
A nice and sunny day, with small butterflies flying about.
Look! My dad let me make giant soap bubbles! I think they are so colorful!
Time to go back to the buses! Did you have fun today? Me too! said teacher Eva!
Teachers waiting back at the buses to welcome everyone onboard!
Thank you for a wonderful day with us! See you tomorrow!
