Dear Parents,
What an amazing month! A bit rainy, but don't forget, with rain comes rainbows! (and a brand new pirate ship on the playground!). During the summer months the pirate ship will be connected with the elevated slide and a whole new section of the "grass terraces" that lead down to the B Level. The play-plaza will be transformed into appropriate short steps with low "wall-climbing" facilities... fun! fun! fun! Additionally, all Hui Xin students will be receiving a blue basketball from the school as a Children's Day present. It is yours to keep!
In the near future invitations will be sent out to all Hui Xin campus families, inviting you to join the Summer Concert, "The Lion King", at the SIPYCC on June 23rd and 24th. The family ticket will cost 150 RMB, similar to last year. This year, the performances will be arranged per age-group, with special introductions by the graduating K2 group and its teachers. As something extraordinary this year, our students and their teachers have worked together to create amazing artwork which will be used as digital backdrops at the venue, as recorded role-plays, finger-plays or moving panoramas.
For Your Consideration:
Following the withdrawal notification deadline on May 15th, 2 months before the end of the semester on July 15th, the finance department at Hui Xin campus has issued payment notices to all families who are staying. Please remember that the payment deadline is June 15th.
On the payment notice you will find a 320 RMB uniform fee, which cover new uniform items: Raincoat (150 RMB), rain-boots (95 RMB), a cap for sunny days (24 RMB), an umbrella and a shoe-bag for sending indoor shoes to and from school as well. The raincoat and boots should be kept at school. Usually, days with small drizzle or fine rain have better air-quality, in the past we have been confined to the class-rooms or function rooms. With raincoat and boots we will be able to tread in puddles of water, listen to the sound of raindrops hitting our coat, and most importantly to feel a sense of capability, as we no longer will be confined to our classroom, but dressed responsibly and ready to enjoy nature in all its glory.
Additionally, on the payment notice you will find an increase in the semester meal fee from 1650 RMB (300 RMB monthly) to 2750 RMB (500 RMB monthly). The monthly fee of 300 RMB was not sustainable enough to cover the expenses of having breakfast, lunch and snack at school. Especially with the general increase in food prices. Now at 500 RMB per month, which is roughly 25 RMB per day per child, we will be able to continue the 3 meals provided, pursue the best quality food suppliers and even add a fruit bar. Teachers will be able to bring fresh fruit to the class-room and let children eat more healthy fruits, whenever they are hungry, not just at meal times.
In June, Hui Xin management will be sending out spot survey's to parents selected by random. If you are one of the parents receiving a survey form, please fill it in as best as you can and return it in the provided sealed envelope. Your input will be used to determine on what areas the school excels and on those we can improve.
Wishing you a wonderful month of June and a great Dragon Boat festival on June 9th & 10th (the school will be closed on both dates).
Sincerely,
Anders Sjoegaard Christensen
