Dear Parents,
With every "goodbye" comes a "good day", with every chapter closed, a new one opens and with every end comes a new beginning. 2015 was an amazing year for Hui Xin campus, we introduced swimming lessons as part of the curriculum, transformed weekly reviews into more detailed monthly newsletters and celebrated our first graduating K2 classes last June. We still stay in touch with many of our graduates over the years and are proud to see them grow into confident young learners. Newton graduates are always warmly welcomed to take part in events and visit their old teachers, even after leaving the K2 program. I know how much it means for a teacher, to know that your old students are thriving and remember their time at kindergarten with fondness.
As we say goodbye to the wonderful year of 2015 and look back on the many precious memories we have made together, we are also reminded about the ones we are revisiting in the coming months, like the Festival of Colors, Children's Day celebration, our big Summer Concerts & Graduation Ceremonies and our recently held "Charity Drive" at campus. Apropos the "Charity Drive" and unfortunate reschedule from the 22nd to the 26th of February, I warmly thank all of our participating vendors and amazing parents for braving the cold and showing up in strong support, helping us to raise a total of 32,506 RMB to the Newton Charity Fund. Great job everyone!
On a bit of an unrelated note, I would like to inform parents of school bus children that we began using two new yellow school buses this January. Before entering the buses into service they were treated against harmful chemicals and allowed time to air-out. However, as an additional precaution the buses were re-tested by an independent company on Saturday, January 23rd and passed with the following scores Bus # E5F880; CH3 at 0.05mg (0.10mg is national standard), TVOC at 0.48 (0.60 is national standard). Bus # E5G175; CH3 at 0.03mg (0.10mg is national standard), TVOC at 0.39 (0.60 is national standard). Unfortunately, the same new buses faced a few days of "break-downs" in the freezing temperatures a couple weeks back and I am terribly sorry for the inconvenience, the lack of transportation caused. Ms. Cindy from transportation and I extend our most sincere apologies to the affected families and thank you for your understanding.
As we are getting closer to the Spring festival and subsequent closure of the school from/incl. Feb. 6th to/incl. Feb 21st I am reminded of the wonderful "good luck" wishes, written by visiting families at the Charity Drive & Spring Festival event, still hanging on the trees in our garden. I want to extend my good wishes to everyone as well.
"I wish good fortune, good health and happiness to all of our Newton families"
