Dear parents,
We are drawing nearer to the end of the 1
st semester; last day will be on January 30
th, 2015.
Newton teachers are currently assessing students’ progress throughout the semester and the progress reports are being submitted to supervisors. Middle of next week your child’s report will be sent home, where we kindly advise parents to write a comment at the back of the report to supplement the teachers’ comments. Parents should return the progress report to the class teacher for safe-keeping and for final completion at the end of the school year in July, 2015.
Furthermore, parents will also receive a hand-made portfolio book with photos and artwork done by students, teachers and even with parents help as well. The portfolio will like the progress report account for a full school-year and be complemented by additional pages in the new semester on a monthly basis.
2nd semester will commence on February 2
nd, 2015. Even though Hui Xin campus have had tremendous requests to open more classes, we will only be opening two additional classes, both pre-nursery classes for the next semester, but for you and your friends consideration enrollment we have begun accepting registrations for commencement in August, 2015.
As we are in the process of procuring school uniforms, we kindly advise all parents to complete uniform orders for the coming semester now (find attached order form). Do order enough, so you can send spare shirts & pants to school in case your child needs changing and when you wash the uniform at home. Students will receive uniforms during their 1st week of school and as long as the item’s are not washed they can be changed to a proper size upon your request.
Furthermore, we are proud to see students wearing uniforms to school at current, but teachers notice a few, repeatedly, not complying with the school’s uniform policy and will be required to keep an additional uniform set at school for changing.
On February 6
th Hui Xin campus’ first annual “Charity Drive & Spring Festival” will be held and it is our hope that moms, dads, grandparents and friends of Newton families will visit during the period 8:15 – 12:00 and have lots of fun. All guests will donate money to charity at the school entrance and even though there is no fixed donation amount required to join the festivities, it is for a good cause and we sincerely hope that parents will set an example in caring for and giving to those in need.
Finally, a calendar reminder,
the school will close entirely for Chinese New Year from/to and including February 14th – March 1st, 2015 and will welcome students back on March 2nd, 2015.
Wishing all of you a fantastic day and a wonderful new semester at Newton Kindergarten
Sincerely,
Anders Sjoegaard Christensen
