On Friday, December 5th Newton students, parents & staff celebrated Christmas by getting together to celebrate the festivities at The Hyatt Regency's grand ballroom. As Newton custom, parents brought in traditional seasonal foods from their home countries to share and Hyatt prepared sweet chili battered prawns, cone shaped crème cocktails, salmon bites, chocolate lollipops and macaroons. Newton Kindergarten's very own chef prepared turkey with roasted potatoes, gravy and salad.
In the ballroom children of all ages could visit Santa's corner and take pictures with him while foreign teacher Ms. Kacie was singing, video's were being shown and everyone had a wonderful time. Hosting the event this year was foreign teacher Ms. Kirsten & class-teacher Mr. Tutu, leading the parent games, introducing the photo story while the real stars of the evening, K1 & K2 students performing "Saint Lucia", "Rudolph" and a medley of "Frozen songs" grabbed our attention.
To end the evening Santa brought presents to all nice children and lots of happy season wishes to all!
