From October 16th to 18th Newton Educational Group invited Zhangjiagang & Hui Xin campus' to visit Xian Yu Gong Mountain in Zhejiang on their annual teambuilding trip.
After work on Friday October 16th Hui Xin campus teachers headed towards Shaoxin where we spent the night. In the morning we walked the beautiful and empty streets of the ancient town before continuing our ride to the foot of the Xian Yu Gong mountains where we arrived around noon. It was a beautiful day, sunny and warm but with a cool breeze through the green valley. Teachers set off in teams, competing to climb the mountain in anywhere between 2.5-4 hrs. At the top we set up camp with tents and sleeping bags, had dinner and finished the evening under the stars with an amazing fire-gathering.
Early morning at sunrise on Oct. 18th. we had a healthy breakfast in the cool morning air before packing bags and climbing a smaller peak nearby the village and commencing our trek round and down the mountain. The walk down went through rice paddies, abandoned villages and at several times we had to balance on wooden logs to cross sections of the footpath... It was beautiful and rough at the same time!
Everyone reached the bottom of the mountain around 11:30, where our buses were waiting to pick us up. It was a memorable and unforgettable trip! Thank you Newton group!
