Dear parents,
First of all, I would like to thank parents from all levels for taking part in our "Festival of Colors". Every class had an average of 5-6 presentations over the two week period and it was a pleasure seeing parents come in every day to present their nationalities and cultures. Please check our website www.internewton.com/hxj for news and articles about the Festival of Colors. As April is a very eventful month, I would like to list the important happenings below for your information. Kindly, note that the Health Check is a newly scheduled addition that is required from time to time by the "Health & Quarantine Bureau of SIP", which the kindergarten must observe.
1) Concerning K1 & K2 Sports Day Rescheduling (parents participation mandatory)
Yesterday and today we have been following the weather forecast closely. With the increased likelihood of rain on Friday, we have decided to postpone our scheduled sports day event for the
K1 & K2 classes to Thursday, April 9th... Right now the weather forecast for April 9th is cloudy, but if it changes to a rainy forecast, it will be cancelled and held internally without parent participation required, you will be informed directly by class teachers.
2) Concerning PN & N Sports Day (parents participation mandatory)
The weather forecast promises cloudy weather on Thursday, April 2nd with a bit of drizzle in the afternoon. The
sports day will go ahead as scheduled in the morning. If it changes to a rainy forecast, the event will be postponed and you will be informed directly by class teachers via. phone call tomorrow Wednesday, April 1st.
3) Holiday Reminder
The school will be closed for "Tomb Sweeping Holiday" on Monday, April 6th and will reopen on Tuesday, April 7th... We wish you a pleasant extended weekend with your families and close ones.
4) Mandatory Health Check (parents participation non mandatory, "Health Check Item List" will follow)
Even though we keep a keen record of each child's vaccination records in our nurse's office. All Kindergarten students have been kindly requested to acquire a "Health Check Record" from a listed Suzhou hospital by the "Health & Quarantine Bureau of SIP". In order to make this more convenient for Newton families we will arrange an exclusive visit to Kowloon Hospital, where on April 8th PN & N students with their classes and teachers will go to the hospital and on April 10th K1 & K2 will go. On these dates we will follow the days regular schedule incl. bus pick-up and drop-off, however, should you wish to join your child at the health inspection you are welcome to meet us there or bring your child by yourself (check time schedule with your class' teacher in advance). Kowloon offers our students an exclusive check-up, budgeted at RMB 120 (please pay this fee to your teachers, before Friday, April 3rd). Kowloon hospital will issue invoices in each student's name for possible company reimbursements. Students who already posses a "Health Check Record" will join the visit, but will not be required to participate in the check.
