We would like to inform you that many schools in Suzhou are experiencing outbreaks of a variety of contagious illnesses and that we are taking extra precautions by disinfecting toys/class-rooms more frequently. However, we need your help to check your child from home and not to forget filling out the "health check paper" in your child's communication book. Teachers are responsible for checking the "health check paper" every day and reminding you to fill out.
Last week one of our Nursery classes was quarantined for several days due to a contagious stomach bug. We were informed early and did not see it spread to other classes. However if your family (mom, dad, grandparents, siblings) experience cases of any of the current virus' going around please inform us as soon as possible.
Hygiene is key when trying to avoid catching a virus such as HFMD, Chickenpox, Noro or the common cold/flu. You can take precautions by following advice below:
- Stay hydrated & drink more fluids.
- Wash hands frequently and avoid touching your face.
- Take shower and change clothes once arriving home.
- Eat more fruits and vegetables to improve immune boosting vitamin C levels.
- Get fresh air and sunshine to increase Vitamin D.
- Limit your exposure by dining out less and avoiding crowds.
Do not be worried. Fever, cough, vomit and diarrhea is in part due to the human immune self protection mechanism trying to get rid of a virus. Please visit your physician for diagnosis and treatment and remember that any child returning to school after absence due to a virus or contagious illness must be accompanied by a clearance letter
Thank you for your support.
