On Friday, November 2nd teachers and students from K2-403 invited campus management to see a learning center class.
Mr. Milos and Ms. Fay took part and played with children in both the literacy/reading corner where children matched letters, combined phonics with sounds to create words and practiced writing words down from around the room. In the muscle/art center children used chopsticks and a hour-glass to see who could grap and transfer as many beans as possible before the sand would run out. It was an incredible exciting and useful game that strengthen the children's coordination and fine muscle skills.
In the role-play area children were calculating the cost of groceries in the shop and wrapping items in paper for deliveries. In the block center children would look at samples of famous buildings, towers, roads, bridges and farms to create similarly interesting constructions out of blocks and recycled items.
Fay & Milos proved once again that Learning centers in kindergarten is the best, most natural and motivating way for children to learn and develop skills.
Well done!
Sincerely,
Newton Kindergarten
