✦ Opening Ceremony
The Football class is a distinctive feature for K3 at Newton, with all K3 children being members of the school football teams. At the end of each academic year, the K2 children receive the team flag from their K3 seniors, symbolizing tradition and growth. On the day of the K3 Sports Day, the K3 children donned their team uniforms – they were the mysterious Fox Team, the agile Cheetah Team, the mighty Tiger Team, the brave Lion Team, the nimble Dolphin Team, the energetic Kangaroo Team, and the confident Eagle Team.
Each team entered in sequence, with precise formation changes: from a single file to two columns, then forming a circle, their movements rhythmic and steps perfectly synchronized.
Through repeated practice, the children mastered rhythm and cooperation, achieving their results through effort and perseverance. This was not just an opening performance, but a culmination of two weeks of diligent training.
✦ On the Field: Growing Through Challenge, Shining Through Cooperation
When children and parents stood side-by-side on the playground,
whether winning or losing, what truly mattered was the full commitment and genuine joy – cheering for teammates, encouraging themselves, and savoring the meaning of the process itself.
In the "Color Cup Challenge," children exercised their observation, reaction, and avoidance skills.
The "Dribble & Shoot Challenge" tested their speed control and power mastery.
In the "Beach Rescue" game, parents and children worked together seamlessly to complete the "rescue mission."
Through these class-vs-class competitions, teachers and parents observed each child's physical differences and growth pace– some excelled at running, others showed steady endurance. Every child progressed in their own unique way.
✦ Finale: Running and Glory
As the event drew to a close, all families gathered on the playground. Led by their class teachers, they embarked on a Parent-Child Fun Dash around the perimeter of the campus. The sounds of footsteps, laughter, and cheers intertwined into the most moving melody. When confetti cannons burst and medals glistened, the children experienced their moment of glory.
✦ To Parents: Your Presence is the Best Participation
Throughout this Sports Day, we witnessed many heartwarming moments:
Parents temporarily set aside their adult roles to become their children's closest "teammates"; they ran, cooperated, high-fived, and laughed, embodying love and companionship through their actions. This shared experience is not just a memory of a competition, but the most precious emotional connection within families.
This Autumn Parent-Child Sports Day concluded successfully amidst laughter and sweat.
It was the K3 children's "farewell battle" as they transition to primary school,
and an important collective experience on their journey of growth.
Let us continue to make "sports" an integral part of our children's lives,
so that they may thrive in health, perseverance, and joy.
