It has been an exciting and very eventful period after returning from the October holiday. We had 3 Sports Days and 2 days of fieldtrips, along with a very festive Halloween, evacuation drill, a dental hygiene and "how to brush teeth" day for K2 students by our friends at Parkway and now the Unity Week. The English curriculum has rounded up Theme #2 Staying Well, Staying Safe and we are in the second week of Theme #3 Everything Changes
At this year's Halloween event we saw a lot of homemade costumes, ranging from a shark in a retrofitted hoodie with sewn on teeth and fin, a motorbike man in a box with a rolling pin as handlebars, a recycle princess in a beautiful bubble wrap dress, SpongeBob square pants in a box, a cat, a cake, a couple of trains, witches, dinosaurs, Doctor Strange and even a dinosaur skeleton. The winner of most creative homemade costume, nominated by level leaders and voted by office staff went to Joy from N-104 for her beautiful wings, made of recycled drawing paper, autumn leaves and a wire frame. Very well done!
On a more practical note, students have received the purple/blue master ID cards which must stay in the communication book or be attached to the school bag at all times. The master ID card is to be used for "swiping out" students who are picked up by friends' parents, in case the QR sign-in/out doesn't work and for students taking school bus. The ID cards, including the new master cards, must be treated with utmost care and under no circumstance are they allowed to be shared with non authorized persons.
While we are enjoying the last few days of Unity Week we have already begun preparing for Christmas, the season of giving (not receiving). At end of November, students will give thanks to their parents, grandparents and friends by making "Thank You" art and on the 29th, parents are invited in to help decorate class-rooms.
We look forward to an amazing and cheerful holiday season. Hopefully, with a warm blanket of snow.
