Dear parents,
Over the course of this week and next K2 students take part in English assessments and mock interviews with teachers of other K2 classes.
Students are being evaluated on various focus points incl. Greetings: how they meet others with confidence. Their ability to briefly introduce themselves, their family and school. They are asked to name picture cards, guess the correct items based on description words by the teacher, read a reading line book out loud, circle the correct high frequency words from dictation, fill in missing letters, numbers and showcase their signature and handwriting skills.
The first groups of children were excited to do the 5-10 minute interviews and many performed truly outstanding!
K2 teachers will continue to do their utmost to ensure that students reach a strong English level by end of the school year, but we strongly urge parents to look at the assessment papers we will send home and help your child to catch up on their English language skill development at home as well.
