Dear parents,
Today we had a fun, green and golden spirit day in relation to the “Dragon Boat Festival” and upcoming holiday.
We were not able to make “Zong Zi” at campus like we usually do this time of year, but we still kept up the yearly tradition by decorating our lobby with colorful painted paddles and dragon boats in the Lotus Pond while wearing green and golden colors to school on this last day before the holiday.
As something new this year every student at school made “Dragon Boats” out of various different materials, including Pre-nursery’s recycled water bottle boats, Nursery’s green toilet paper roll and ice-cream stick dragon boats with pomp poms and googly eyes, K1’s cork and flag boats and K2’s “magic foam” boats.
With a little luck from the weather gods it was a nice and dry day “on land” and a watery fun day “at sea” where all of our Dragon Boats got their maiden voyage. Children used the many water experiment areas at campus to set sail and try to float their boats throughout the day together with their teachers and it was a lot of fun!
On behalf of all teachers and staff at school we wish everyone an amazing, safe and happy Dragon Boat Holiday!
Sincerely,
Newton, Hui Xin campus
