Dear parents,
It has been a wonderful first few weeks of school where old students have gotten familiar with their new classrooms and brand new students have settled in emotionally and begun enjoying the friends and daily routine at kindergarten.
During the past weeks it has been important for us to acknowledge the social/emotional needs of new students, by allowing parents to bring them to the classroom doors for handover and personal pick-up in the afternoon, where families also had a moment to talk with their teachers.
We wish to thank parents and grandparents for observing the rules of wearing masks and not entering any rooms during drop-off and pick-up on school days during these first two weeks.
Most schools in Suzhou will open on September 1st and while we remain optimistic that Covid-19 is under control in Suzhou with no new infections published, we take precautions and will temporarily go back to the drop-off and pick-up routine of staggered times unique to each class where K1 & K2 students can walk to their classes independently and Pre-Nursery & Nursery students will be escorted by teachers, starting from Monday, August 31st.
Reminders:
- Please wear mask before arriving at school gate.
- Hold the "at-home health check" paper in your hand, filled in and ready to show gate personnel.
- Inform your child in advance of August 31st that you will not be able to enter school together.
- Remember to swipe your ID card on the terminals at both drop-off and pick-up.
- From September 7th-25th: Parent-teacher meetings will take place at campus after school at 16:00-16:30 and on Saturday, September 19th. All parents must wear masks and use hand sanitizers when visiting.
Your teachers will inform you of the specific drop-off and pick-up time and parent-teacher arrangement by phone-call or written message in the communication books in advance this week.
We sincerely thank you for always supporting our joined efforts at campus and look forward to spend this most memorable year together.
Sincerely,
Newton, Hui Xin campus management and staff
