Exploring and Protecting the Ocean's Beauty
Embarking on a marine adventure interwoven with stories and imagination, safeguarding the azure depths.
The children in PN&N classes embarked on a fascinating journey into the ocean depths through engaging picture books!
PN children gathered around their teacher, captivated by the delightful story of "Fish," learning the importance of ocean conservation. Then, through a sensory activity, these little "Ocean Guardians" created their own ocean sensory bins, using small nets to remove "marine debris," bringing a hint of life back to the ocean with each piece they collected.
N children learned about the challenges facing marine animals through the book "SOS from the Sea." They transformed into "Eco-Heroes," helping a baby whale clean the trash from its "belly" and sorting the waste into recycling bins. This enjoyable activity emphasized the importance of recycling and protecting our oceans.
Nature and the Future: Discovery and Creation
Where science meets art, exploring the mysteries of Earth and planting seeds of hope.
The children in K1 and K2 classes explored the wonders of our planet through the fusion of science and art, expressing their respect and love for nature!
In a science experiment, K1 children created miniature Earth landscapes using the chemical reaction between baking soda and vinegar. They observed the changing colors of the Earth, felt the pulse of life, and collected natural materials from around the school to decorate their landscapes with trees, flowers, and animal models, resulting in vibrant and engaging miniature Earth scenes.
K2 children unlocked even more of Earth's secrets through light and shadow play, as well as musical movement activities. They created Earth models using paper plates with blue and green cellophane, casting beautiful light and shadow effects. They also learned to sing "The Earth Song," conveying their love for our planet through their pure voices.
Recycle, Reuse, Reimagine: Creativity and Practice
Transforming waste into wonders and embedding environmental values in playful hearts.
Recycling and reuse were highlights of this event, as children showcased the meaning of environmental protection through their creativity and actions, breathing new life into discarded materials!
During a music activity, the PN&N children created "Eco-friendly Instruments" from recycled materials like plastic bottles and cardboard tubes. They enjoyed playing their instruments while experiencing the joy of repurposing waste.
In the "Plant a Garden" game, K1 children made flowers using popsicle sticks and cardboard, planting them in gardens created from recycled foam boxes. Discarded milk cartons were transformed into DIY planting pots, where children sowed seeds and carefully watered them, nurturing a love for nature as they eagerly awaited germination.
K2 children became "Intergalactic Cleaners," creating robotic arms from cardboard boxes. They navigated planetary obstacles to reach "Earth," using their arms to pick up trash and place it in recycling bins. This creative game not only provided the children with a sense of the hard work that sanitation workers do but also deepened their understanding of the importance of environmental protection.
Special Initiative: Resource Rebirth Project
Families and kindergartens working hand in hand, creativity and environmentalism walking together.
In the week leading up to Earth Day, all Newton families collaborated to collect used plastic and paper products from their homes and deposit them in designated recycling bins at the kindergarten entrance. These discarded materials were transformed by the children's skillful hands into part of the Earth Day-themed exhibition, conveying the power of environmental protection and the magic of creativity!
The PN&N children used paper plates, popsicle sticks, paper cups, and other materials to create a vibrant and colorful underwater world, teeming with lively and interesting fish and other marine creatures.
The K1 and K2 children used cardboard boxes and sheets of cardboard to construct scenes representing natural ecosystems and futuristic cities, filled with creativity and hope. This project demonstrates the children's profound understanding of the harmonious coexistence between humans and nature.
Additionally, many families spontaneously participated by creating a range of eco-friendly DIY handicrafts, enhancing the exhibition area's richness and colorfulness. Each piece reflected the children's imagination and creativity while also conveying a beautiful vision of loving the Earth and protecting the environment!
Protecting Our Earth: Beginning with Extraordinary Little Acts
Every small act contributes to a powerful force for protecting our planet.
During Earth Day Activity Week, the children sowed seeds of green hope through small environmental actions, learning about environmental protection through play and experiencing its importance in practice. They learned to cherish resources, care for the environment, and understand that everyone is part of the Earth and shares the responsibility of protecting our home.
Not only did the children actively participate, but every family also joined in this meaningful action. On Earth Day, we received numerous actions for environmental protection from families: planting and watering, using environmentally friendly bags, green travel... Parents set an example for their children through practical actions, conveying the far-reaching significance of protecting the Earth.
Newton will consistently practice the concept of "Green Education," creating more opportunities for children to engage with nature and promote environmental protection, ensuring that the seeds of protecting the Earth take root in their hearts. We believe that the power of children's hearts and actions will eventually blossom into a brilliant light to protect the Earth!
