Autumn ends, and winter starts. All things are in restoration. Looking back on November, we explored the beautiful nature, participated in interesting activities, conducted realistic fire drills, felt love, shared love, and sowed the seeds of gratitude. Let’s hurry up and collect these beautiful memories!
Review of practical activities inside and outside of Newton
2020 is a special year. Although we cannot invite parents to participate in children’s activities as usual, the use of resources on and off campus for exploration, games, learning, and growth has not stopped in Newton. We have prepared a variety of energetic, fun and meaningful activities for children, combining the age and characteristics of children and their interests.
Based on the current pandemic situation, combined with the geographical advantages and resources around the campus, Newton Kindergarten Bayside Campus selected and planned outdoor activities and social practices suitable for different age groups through multiple pre-trips and planning beforehand.
Under the guidance of the teacher, the children from the kindergarten class walked from the kindergarten to the Jinji Lake. While admiring the architectural and artistic features of Jinji Lake, they recorded the beauty of autumn with a paintbrush. It allowed children to feel the charm of nature from a unique perspective .
The children in the nursery class walked with their teachers and felt the changes in autumn. They happily played various fun games on the lawn, such as "Small Ball Run", "Rainbow Umbrella", "Breeze and Leaves", etc. They played in the tent, had a picnic, and experienced the joy of playing and sharing with companions in a free and relaxing environment.
The students in the pre-nursery class took part in walking outdoors for the first time, which was both novel and challenging. Under the care and guidance of the teachers, we secured a wide lawn where children are free to run and chase on the grass. Children searched for fallen leaves and small ants with the teachers, and they explored the mysteries of nature together. They initially learned to cooperate and share. While exercising, they also enhanced their friendship and felt the beauty of harmony between human and nature!
In Newton Kindergarten Huixin Campus, the principal and teachers meticulously planned and adapted measures to local conditions, transformed social practices under the pandemic into the use of the resources of the kindergarten, and carried out lively and interesting "Happy Day" activities for the children in the kindergarten.
All kinds of gymnastics equipment were placed in the gymnastics room in advance, covered with thick gymnastics mats and soft carpets. The little kids followed the gymnastics coach to do jumping, balancing, climbing and tumbling movements happily. The children continued to chase the teacher and asked, "Can we play again?" Yes, of course, even every week. Through fun and interesting activities, not only the children's movement development ability is improved, but also the courage to challenge themselves. For this, we are extremely pleased and proud.
We invited coaches from "My Little Gym" to lead the children to do cheerleading dance. The children did a great job waving red colored flower balls and changing formations!
In Lego class, Mr.Gu and the children built fun houses with Lego pieces. Children developed their logical thinking and imagination in the enjoyable Lego building activity.
At the end of the activity, "Bubble Magician" brought a wonderful "Bubble Show" performance to the children. With the sound of exciting music, the "magician" blew out thousands of bubbles of different sizes. Under the bright sun, the children are chasing colorful bubbles with excitement, the biggest bubble..........Children’s innocence drew a successful conclusion to this happy time.
Newton Fire Safety Monthly Event Review
November. 9th is National Fire Safety Awareness Day. In Newton kindergarten, the tradition of fire drill has not changed. However, the difference is, we'll include fire safety education into the curriculum this time, with deep study of children’s fire safety awareness and understanding of self-help skills. Let us walk into Newton's "Fire Safety Month" to see a different fire safety month.
What should I do when there is a fire?
How can I help myself when there is a fire?
What are these safety marks?
What is an escape map?
What are these devices? What are they for?
Our little children are good at thinking. They asked all kinds of questions on the first day of the Fire Safety Week. With these questions, the teacher first introduced what fire is all about, what are the hazards of fire, and what should we do when there is a fire? Then the teacher guided the children out of the classroom to learn about fire signs, fire safety equipment, and get to know the role of fire safety equipment.
After acquiring some simple fire safety knowledge, the children moved their little hands and used their novice paintbrushes to turn their learned fire safety knowledge into visualized posters, which are posted on the billboards in the hallway, reminding us to pay attention to fire safety in the whole kindergarten.
Beep, beep, as an alarm set off, the teachers of the Huixin campus immediately called up the children to pick up the wet towel to cover their noses and mouths. And under the guidance of the teachers, the children followed the safety escape route and quickly came to the safe area.
Hey, a mysterious and gleaming fire truck came in at the school gate. It turned out that the firefighters received our call for help and rushed over immediately. What's the use of this fire truck? How did he put out the fire? Then, Uncle Firefighters led the children to visit the fire truck, and explained the equipment and functions of the fire truck to the children. They let the children understand that the equipment plays a very important role in fire fighting and saving people. The children directly and realistically felt and touched equipment such as ladders, hoses, helmets, boots, alarms, oxygen supplies, heavy cutting tools and awls. They have a preliminary understanding of their purpose, but also a deeper understanding of the bravery and hardships of Uncle Firefighters.
In Newton Kindergarten, our superman "voluntary firefighters" are composed of our security guards, teachers and chefs. They usually carry out professional training and master the use of fire fighting equipment in the kindergarten. They are prompt to respond to the fire signal, and act quickly to guard the fire safety of the kindergarten.
The fire safety month comes to an end temporarily. Children can tell their parents about the fire safety knowledge they have learned, observe together with their parents at home, look for hidden fire hazards and self-rescue facilities at home, and integrate fire safety awareness into every detail of life.
