On Friday the 23rd of September the children of K1-109 had a fun arts activity as part of the English curriculum. The children used cotton string dipped in paints to create colorful shapes and patterns on art paper.
Dipping the string in paint is a bit of a messy job and requires excellent fine-motor skills, but it certainly is fun! After dipping the string in paint, carefully place it in the pattern you like onto the white art paper and fold the paper on top. A beautiful pressing of various colors will appear, but be careful when you remove the string!.
Thank you Ms. Celia for teaching us how to make string art work.
Having creative arts often means getting your hands dirty! What fun!
K1-109 Arts lesson: First you dip a string in your paint of choice.
Let's lay the paint covered string in a fun pattern on the art paper.
After the string is in position, fold over the paper booklet and press down.
Look at the beautiful shapes and patterns!
Who wants to try another color?
