At Hui Xin campus, children take part in a variety of fun activies throughout their day.
One of the most exciting activities is when we go to our very own swimming pool and learn how to swim. Every week the Newton swim coach teaches students from Nursery to K2 how to swim, how to move in the water, to float and to enjoy the basic feeling of being in water.
Children use floaties and foam-boards to gain confidence in the water. When they are ready to try to stay afloat without supports, the teacher will do 1-to-1 practices.
Swimming is not only fun, but it is a highly social/educational subject as well. To take on this challenge together with our friends, to brave into the element, to feel how our body moves in the water, learn why and how things float or stay afloat and to feel how our bodies have a natural buouncy.
We also learn proper safety etiquette when we swim near others and in the end acquire a life-saving skill of being able to swim!.
It is an amazing course, one that is provided as part of the kindergarten program at Hui Xin campus.
Classes start with floating and muscle exercises.
It's important to have the proper technique when learning how to swim.
The campus swim coach and assistant guides children both in and out of water.
Learning how to swim takes practice and dedication. We can do it!
By the way... it is great fun to swim!
