Dear parents,
As mentioned in the August letter from campus, we have been busy at work over the summer to give you and your children a fresh start of the new school year at the most beautiful kindergarten in Suzhou.
All class-rooms have been maintained throughout the past weeks, fixing old holes from screws or nails and we have painstakingly taken off all tape and stickers from the walls and adopted a "no sticker/tape policy". To teach awareness and respect for our environment, the workmen who made it and the teachers who will use in the future, we no longer allow stickers or tape on walls where they will leave a permanent mark or cause the paint to peel off once removed. Teachers will instead use streamers, boards, frames and wires to decorate class-rooms in the most beautiful and creative of ways.
We invite you to discover the changes via. the slide-show on the right of this article.
At the Meet & Greet on August 19th new and old families visited the campus to receive documents, meet teachers and prepare children for school.
Upon entering and after being greeted by Ms. Cindy and Ms. Mavis families would notice changes to the library, which has received a fantastic make-over, the circle ceiling has been raised 30 cm up to give more air-circulation, LED lights were installed, the bookshelves moved from under the staircase to let more natural light into the room and a wood-wall was put in. In the near future the library will feature a small stage for the "Tell-A-Tale" speaker or children story-tellers.
Passing along the hallway, you can look down into the play-plaza and see all water-works and fountains running, you will also notice a beautiful hand-crafted piano shaped cover for the sandbox before you pass by resource room # 103 where a whole new room has been constructed for the bus waiting area children (the room will finish in the next 2 months before the higher air-pollution sets in).
By room 107 you will see a major improvement. Gone is the old small circular sandbox and instead we had carpenters make a big and beautiful sand exploration area where upwards of 30 children can easily play together. By its side you will find a big water basin for both exploring water, cleaning sand off feet and moving water into the sandbox for construction of sandcastles etc.
But we are not finished yet, in the B-Level the LEGO room has been re-invigorated as well, with new wood-walls, a closed off storage area and an open space with "green grass" and tables for playing Lego. Hui Xin campus has invested more than 50.000 RMB in the LEGO room and though the room is a function room, available to teachers and classes upon booking, it also serves as the room for enrichment LEGO lessons once it starts up in September.
We hope, that your children will enjoy and appreciate the hard work it takes to keep-up and take care of our amazing kindergarten while having fun! fun! fun! using the facilities.
Sincerely,
Anders S Christensen
