From April 15th to 26th parents were invited to join their child's Open Class at school.
Parents would join in the morning exercise, the in-class activities, English and PE lesson, Music (for PN & N) Library and bicycle lessons (for K1 & K2). It was a fun day and also very meaningful. This year our K2 classes made "Time Capsules", but instead of burying them in the ground as previous years, they brought them home for safe keeping. Families brought a variety of sweet personal items from home, such as leftover sock, a small brick or stone, a glove or mitten that has become too small, the Newton medal from Sports Day, Photos, Dried Flowers etc. On the day parents would write letters and we would put class photos and campus photos along with the personal memories into the aluminium cans and we sealed them, not to be opened before the year of 2040. Why 2040? Because, in 2040 our current K2 students will be of an age where they probably have children themselves, who are either already at kindergarten or preparing to go to kindergarten and we wish our amazing kids, to look back at their own time as a child, with their moms, dads, teachers and friends at kindergarten, at Newton.
For all visiting families throughout the two week period they had a chance to try the campus foods at the lobby, when leaving for the day. Campus nurse and nutritionist together with head chef Mr. Jackie presented a variety of the food products we use and samples of the day's food for parents to try.
It was a great couple of weeks and we sincerely thank parents for their awesome support!
Thank you
