Once again we are looking forward to greet both new and returning students to campus and as the seasons change, there are always many new stories to share and we are thoroughly looking forward to the new school year ahead.
A new semester full of hope and wonder
While children have been enjoying their summer vacation, yearly upkeep and additions have taken place at campus.. The playground has been refurbished, new outdoor and indoor toys have been added, but the most eye-catching change is probably the new campus train!
Our old Newton train has been running faithfully for the past nine years since the campus opened in 2014 and has accompanied thousands of Newton children as they enjoy the campus sceneries and the change of seasons. As the old train retires from service, the new campus train will continue to carry children's dreams forward with full steam ahead!
The arrival of the new train brought children a pleasant surprise. With it’s golden bells and bright color, children marveled at it’s beauty and all wanted to jump onboard and try it out. Children also had fun exploring other upgrades around campus, like the sand pit, the garden, the hillside. Everything is familiar, yet new at the same time!
In class children enjoyed a story about the old and new trains and K2 children drew their new dream train with a variety of materials. K1 children used brushes to draw colorful feathers and equipped the old retired train with wings of blessing and wishes that it may continue to inspire us. Teachers of PN and N also decorated the old train into their favorite Thomas Train “boxes” for games and were excited to play a “dress-up” style game with the old train as well.
Greeting new friends and growing together
Every year when we say goodbye to the summer, it is also the time we welcome new students to join our family. The little ones can be uneasy at first, but are curious towards the new environment, games and friends and after two weeks of settling in and with our loving and caring teachers the little have bravely begun adapting to kindergarten life, as tears turned into the bright smiles, separation crying into a love of coming to kindergarten. Children have been able to explore, interact with friends and do sports with the teachers’ encouragement . We are proud of their strong spirits and look forward to a wonderful time with them throughout their life in kindergarten and all of the amazing experiences to come!
Friends reunite and share their fun summer stories!
The new classrooms have been decorated by teachers and the campus has been re-painted during the holiday in anticipation of welcoming back students!
How did you spend your summer vacation? Children shared their interesting summer experiences and added fun and laughter to their first day of school.
After being moved up a grade, not only did we change classrooms, but also joined new friends with excitement. In order to commemorate this new beginning, children who have moved up participated in a commemorative painting activity with their friends. With the honor and joy of having grown and moved up one level the finished painting has become a piece of meaningful art, both as decoration and as a memory!
With the new semester comes a new beginning and a new year full of fun stories of growing up and precious childhood memories.!
We wish all of our children, parents and teachers a wonderful first day of school!
