Happy Earth Day!
April 22nd marked the annual Earth Day holiday. In celebration of day, here at Newton we prepared many activities to educate the children and staff on environmental awareness, respect, and preservation.
Children made reusable grocery bags from old shirts, they made plant pots out of used milk cartons and coconuts, with teachers they made posters out of recycled materials to share the "end plastic waste" initiative, and had lessons in our garden on how to properly compost. Our logistics team has been working with the kitchen and ayi staff to properly dispose of all used items whether it be recycled, reused, composted or disposed.
It is a huge point of pride on our behalf to say that we are a green kindergarten and we are ever working to improve our protection skills.
To inspire good habits for all the children we must begin from the top. All management, administration, kitchen staff, and teachers train how to be environmentally concious at school and in their personal lives.
With educated confident staff we can better teach the children how to also recycle, reuse and renew. We are very proud of the enthusiasm and interest the the children have taken in this subject and we are happy to see them share their knowledge at home with their families.
Let's save and heal our earth together!
