Wednesday May 23rd, 2018 the students of the K1 international section took a trip to May Farms.
This year Newton has upgraded our meal plan to include all organic vegetables. We have invested in garden space at the local May Farms to harvest these fresh veggies.
To teach students about where our food comes from, sustainable gardening and respect for nature we visited the farm and saw our garden.
The children began the activity with a video explaining the origin and purpose of the May Farms.
Then they were lead on a guided tour of the plantation and saw a goat, growing grapes, peaches on trees, small pumpkins and ripening tomatoes.
The children ended their visit with a packed lunch and fruit juice.
We are so grateful to work with such a wonderful company to provide us fresh healthy food and a lovely experience for our students.
