Another year has come and gone here at Newton and another class has graduated.
Today we celebrated the Newton career of our K2 students and honored their kindergarten graduation.
The ceremony was immediately followed by the Summer Concert where all the levels of the kindergarten to performed.
We began the morning with a display of all the children's art work in the hallway to the theater. The crafts reflected this year's theme which was nature and environmental protection.
Our focus was on three areas of the world; ocean, forest and city. Their special designs lined the hall setting the mood and feeling for the show.
When the show began we started with the graduation. Children performed an opening dance, speeches were given by the teachers, a parent and the principal.
Each student wore their graduation gown and received their diploma from the principals. The graduation closed with the children gathering to sing "Remember Me". With a few wet eyes in the crowd the event was bittersweet for everyone.
It has been an honor raising these special children and we are confident that they will have successful futures.
The Summer Concert continued to follow the ocean, forest and city themes.
There was a fashion show made from recycled materials, plays about saving the trees and ocean, and dances about respecting and preserving the earth.
It was clear to see all the hard work and dedication from our wonderful teachers to make this show beautiful and meaningful.
We want to thank all the parents, friends and family that attended, we truly hope that you enjoyed the show. It is with your continued support that we are able to put on such special events.
Congratulations to all our graduate and little performers. We hope you all have a great summer!
