Dear Parents,
The next few months of the semester will be busy with fun Newton events including Children’s Day on May 27th and Summer Concert on June 30th. While these are great opportunities to take pictures of your child and capture precious moments it is important remember the Newton policy of posting pictures in social media. Newton strictly restricts teachers and staff from taking pictures of students and posting them to social media. Teachers are not allowed to have their personal phones on them and therefore are not allowed to take pictures of students. Teachers will only take pictures from the classroom phone to put on student’s USBs and for the picture books.
As part of the practice in kindergarten, it is important that the institution and family respect and follow a similar moral standard. Consistency is key in creating the best environment for growing children. With this we ask that parents also please adhere to the Newton social media policy. For privacy and respect please do not take pictures of other students, and do not post them to any social media. Each family deserves to take and post whatever pictures they like of themselves, but it is not acceptable to post of others.
With social media such a prominent part of our daily lives it is easy to forget that it is still a platform necessary of boundaries. Newton prides itself on maintaining international standards for our staff and families. Please take this as a friendly yet serious reminder to respect the privacy of others and be aware of what you post in social media.
Sincerely,
Newton Kindergarten
