It is that time of year again where we get to take a day off from regular school fun and games to go outside and enjoy a field trip with friends, teachers and parents. This year we chose three different places for the different levels. Pre-nursery and nursery classes went to the Suzhou Botanical Garden, K1 went to the Suzhou West Hill, and K2 went to Shigong Hill. These places provided a good experience for our students to explore and enhance their knowledge and respect for nature.
Classes joined together with their parent or grandparent at the school campus in the morning then promptly left on tour guide buses. For the older students the journey was longer and guides help to keep kids excited with various games and singing. When everyone arrived at their destination they enjoyed a variety of activities. The younger kids painted pictures of nature with the parents and the older students built planes they could fly in a friendly competition. At lunch time, classes gathered together to enjoy a picnic and share food with one another. It was great to see that parents had prepared a great variety healthy food for everyone. In the afternoon pre-nursery and nursery families were free to explore, wander and play. The older levels went to orange groves to pick their very own oranges to take home. When the day was over we returned on the buses where most children, exhausted from all the fun, took little naps.
We are so grateful to be able to prepare this for our students and we hope that everyone who joined left with happy memories. It is important to take time to do special things together with children because they grow so quickly and we will miss their carefree childhood before we know it. Thank you for your participation and support and we are looking forward to another lovely trip in the Spring!
