Summer is upon us in a gentle way. Our campus has once again been filled with joy and vitality as children come back to school after a super long holiday. We feel happy to see that the children grew up a lot through the spring season. Considering the epidemic, there are adjustments in the school's daily routines, for example, we changed the way the children enter & exit the school, adjusted the lunch & nap times and other various activities throughout the day. Accompanied and guided by familiar teachers, the children have quickly adapted to the new school routines and enjoyed their time on campus. Under the guidance of our teachers, the children are now knowledgeable and capable of taking care of and wearing masks by themselves, washing their hands according to seven steps, willing to say goodbye to parents confidently, walking to their classrooms and packing up their schoolbags all by themselves, in addition to learning to keep a safe social distance from friends while on campus.
This week we carried out height and weight measurements for K1 & k2 children in order to ensure we can track the health, well-being and proper development of our children during the long holiday. Next week we will continue to measure Nursery children and K1 & K2 children who will come back to school. We also invited doctors from the ophthalmology hospital perform a professional eye-sight check for our children. This past week (and next week for Nursery kids) we did a Daily Observation Report to observe and document the children’s emotional well-being, activity participation, social interaction, etc. to give to the parents. Please find your child’s observation records in the communication book and parents are encouraged to write any feedback they may have on the development of their children at home in order to communicate any necessary information with their class teachers.
Today is an exciting and special Friday, not only is it the end of the May, but it is also our group birthday celebration! We will celebrate the birthdays of children whose birthdays were in February, March, April and May. The birthday children will sing birthday songs, cut cakes and give each other warm wishes together with their caring and beloved teachers and good friends. For past these two weeks teachers have been planning and preparing for the upcoming events: Children's Day, Dragon Boat Festival and Graduation Ceremony. Due to the epidemic prevention and control, we have to cancel the traditional plan where we invite parents to come and perform with teachers on stage. However, we have planned a special celebration in which teams of teachers will come to each class to perform for our children, make interesting and creative activities, prepare a special buffet by the chef and the children will make DIY reusable bags for gifts. It will certainly bring a different festival experience for children. We look forward to it and hope that you do too! Please note the following dates and arrangments: Dragon Boat Festival will be held on June 19, K2 Graduation Ceremonies for the international classes will be held on July 8 and domestic classes on July 10. Please pay attention for further notices about our upcoming activities.
Next week most of our children will return to the school. Below are some tips for your reference:
1. In order to avoid crowding during the period of entering and exiting school, we have arranged varying locations and times for children according to their sections and levels. Parents are required to drop-off and pick-up their children at the scheduled time arranged by the school, keeping a safe distance according to the guidance of on-site personnel, tape marked on the ground and the posted signs, swiping access cards in an orderly fashion.
2. In order ensure that our children are safe and constantly monitored by teachers, their personal mobile phones will continue to nor be allowed in the classrooms during working hours. Therefore, teachers can't check messages in Atongmu APP during school hours, so please only expect responses between 16:00-17:00. Parents can communicate with class teachers through the communication book , via class phone (please avoid calling during nap time) and talking to teachers face to face during drop-off and pick-up.
3. Please pay close attention to your child's health every day. If your child has any abnormal physical condition, fever, cough, congestion, rash, etc. please inform the class teacher as soon as possible.
